WINEMAKER’S NOTES
Beautifully hued, with a jeweled blueberry-toned core, the 2024 Reserve Pinot Noir is alluring from the first glance. The nose is explosive and intensely fragrant, offering pure aromas of boysenberry, bright cherry, raspberry, and dark rose petals, layered with notes of graham cracker crust, iris flower, black tea, and subtle cedar. Hints of wet stone, forest floor, olive tapenade, and dry herbs emerge with time in the glass, lending an ethereal sense of place and minerality. The palate is round, soft, and mouth-filling, balancing plush fruit with bright, refreshing acidity. Flavors of tart cherry, raspberry, and strawberry unfold seamlessly across the palate, carried by a smooth mid palate and a light minerality. The finish is exceptionally long and graceful, leaving a lasting impression of purity, balance, and energy. Already captivating and beautifully structured in its youth.
Vintage Notes: What a dream vintage 2024 was! Nearly perfect growing temperatures all season long presented very few farming challenges, other than a rather large crop that required substantial fruit thinning. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many clusters on the ground to reach our desired crop level for quality. Our Estate Pinot Noir was all harvested on September 28th, with the Chardonnay coming two days later. The gorgeous, cool September rendered amazing flavors to the fruit with crisp acidities. I am pleased to say they have all the characteristics of an all-time Willamette Valley vintage!
